Back To Pazsaz Entertainment Network's Chef Academy Page Coming To America Nine eclectic students are chosen to be the guinea pigs in Chef Novelli's culinary education experiment, hand picked by himself and Mr. Kitchen after performing the simple culinary task of cooking an egg. The students represent an array of backgrounds from newly trained chefs to anxious homemakers hoping to learn some new culinary tricks. Students are assessed weekly via a variety of tests from preparing bread to gutting a fish. But Chef Novelli forewarns the students - failing three tests are grounds for dismissal from his Academy. Bitter Sweet It's a dessert storm when the culinary students must re-create one of Jean-Christophe's sweet dishes. Jean-Christophe also shepherds his pupils to a local farmer's market to teach them about fresh produce. The students soon forge friendships, but one aspiring chef's veiled past comes to light. Basic Training Chef Novelli tutors his enrollees in the fine art of cooking risotto, enhanced with his grandmother's full-flavored tomato sauce. The students must then replicate the recipe - but not before a classroom disruption results in one student's dismissal. A Bun In The Oven Dough rises - and so does the tension - when Chef Novelli tutors his culinary pupils in the fine art of baking bread. Meanwhile, student Suzanne throws a baby shower for Novelli's fiancee and enlists her classmates to prepare food for the party. Naked Lunch Chef Novelli's enrollees get to the root of cooking vegetarian meals. As one particular student begins to annoy the others, the aspiring chefs forge alliances. But those newfound friendships are tested when one pupil wins a dinner prepared by Novelli himself. Squid Pro Quo Chef Novelli casts his students into a seaworthy challenge. They board a boat to learn about fishing - but it won't be smooth sailing for the two pupils who have issues with floating vessels. Later, they learn about preparing seafood, including squid and scallops. Meat Your Maker The culinary pupils partake in a meat feat when Chef Novelli challenges them to create a trio of meat-based dishes. The heat is on when they must also cook up one of the 15 recipes learned in previous classes. Too Many Cooks In the wake of one student's dismissal after three failures, a somber mood turns to determination when Chef Novelli announces the pupils' final task: They must whip up a gala dinner for a mix of VIPs and elite chefs. The Last Supper It's a pressure cooker when the pupils take on their final test. They must serve up a gala dinner for elite guests, with taste-tester Chef Novelli appraising their food before it leaves the kitchen.
