Top 22 Compete In the first mystery box challenge of the season, the Top Finalists will have 90 minutes to prep and cook a unique and impressive dish, using mainly dessert ingredients. The winner of the mystery box will have a significant advantage in the next round, deciding which classic American dish the remaining contestants will have to prepare in the elimination round. Top 20 Compete It's the ultimate culinary war when the remaining 20 home cooks compete in the biggest field challenge in MASTERCHEF history: feeding an army of 500 servicemen and women on a desert army base. In their first team challenge, the contestants will split into two teams - the red team and the blue team - to create a hearty meal including one protein and two side dishes. Tempers flare as both teams struggle with consistency, and every dish counts as the troops will vote for their favorite dish and determine the winning team. Later, the losing team will face an intense pressure test featuring the all-American classic, blueberry pie. Find out whose dessert will prove to be a victory and who will be sent home. Top 18 Compete In their second mystery box challenge this season, the competition livens up when the Top 18 contestants take on an intimidating seafood challenge. Top 17 Compete In the next team challenge, contestants must prepare an upscale seafood menu for a beachfront wedding. After an emotional challenge, tensions are high, but both teams complete their dinner for the wedding guests. The team who most successfully finishes the dinner is safe from elimination, while the losing team faces the pressure test featuring a traditional American meal with steak and fries. The winner will have a significant advantage in the next round and, with the help of MASTERCHEF winner Luca Manfe and MASTERCHEF JUNIOR winner Alexander Weiss, determine which former MASTERCHEF champion's specialty dish each contestant will prepare in the elimination round. Top 15 Compete In the next challenge, the remaining contestants must put aside their differences and work in pairs to create a restaurant quality surf and turf dish. Top 14 Compete In the next challenge, the remaining 14 home cooks will split into two teams and take command of the kitchen at Dinah's, one of the busiest and most iconic diners in Los Angeles. The stakes are high as the contestants will prepare classic American fare for the restaurant's regular diners. The team that receives the most customer tips will be safe from elimination, while the losing team members will face an intense pressure test, during which they must make an elegant and delicious three-layer red velvet cake. Top 13 Compete The remaining home cooks face the most intimidating Mystery Box challenge yet, when they go head-to-head with the judges to prepare a restaurant-quality dish using the most exquisite wild Alaskan king salmon. The winner of the Mystery Box challenge will be safe in the next elimination round, during which the home cooks will need to create a dish using a selection of one judges' favorite ingredients. Top 12 Compete In the next team challenge, the remaining home cooks prepare romantic dinners for couples celebrating their anniversaries in the MASTERCHEF restaurant. While preparing for the main course, Gordon Ramsay introduces a special guest for the evening, his wife, who will be dining in with Ramsay that evening. The team that receives the most number of votes from the couples will be safe from elimination, while the losing team will have to face the next pressure test and create their own truffle recipes for a box of chocolates. Find out whose victory is sweet and who will be sent home. Top 11 Compete In the next mystery box challenge, the remaining home cooks will be faced with a challenge unlike any other. For the first time in MASTERCHEF history, the home cooks will get to choose between two mystery boxes. One box is filled with everyday ingredients, while the second contains high-end ingredients. The winner of the mystery box challenge will not only win immunity and advance to the Top 10, but will also choose which type of stuffed pasta the remaining home cooks will create in the elimination challenge. Top 10 Compete The remaining home cooks will prepare a healthy football game concessions menu for an entire stadium, with special guest Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson. The team that receives the most number of votes from the football fans will be safe from elimination, while the losing team will have to face the next pressure test and create three unique prawn dishes. Find out whose dishes are a touchdown and who will be sent home. Top 8 Compete The remaining home cooks will split into four teams of two and prepare a poultry dish, each using different parts of the chicken. The two pairs who most successfully complete their dishes will be safe from elimination, while the two losing pairs will have to face a series of pressure tests with eggs. In each of the three pressure tests, one competing home cook will move on in the competition. Find out whose dishes pass the tests and who will crack under pressure. Top 7 Compete Before the next mystery box challenge, the remaining home cooks will receive a little hometown encouragement, as they head into a savory apple dish challenge. The home cook who creates the best dish, not only will be safe from elimination, but will also play a key role in the next challenge. Then, the remaining home cooks will be split into pairs as they prepare a variety of pot stickers. Top 6 Compete The remaining home cooks will take over a high-end restaurant in Los Angeles. Before the dinner service begins, teams meet their surprise dinner consultant for the evening, Chef Gordon Ramsay, who will be working alongside them. The team whose dinner service receives the best reviews will be safe from elimination, while the losing team will compete in the next pressure test and create their own croquembouche. Top 5 Compete/Top 4 Compete After the remaining home cooks are surprised with a few VIP guests in the kitchen, each home cook will create a dish inspired by one of their loved ones. The home cook with the best dish will be safe from elimination and move on in the competition, while the remaining home cooks must go with their guts as they prepare rare protein dishes and battle for a spot in the Top Four. Later, the judges announce a final team challenge that will determine who will advance to the Top Three. Find out which contestants demonstrate how far they've come in the competition in order to earn a spot in the finale and move one step closer to winning a life-changing grand prize. Top 3 Compete/Winner Chosen with a little help from a few other home cooks, the remaining three contestants will create dishes for a judging panel of renowned chefs representing all 50 states. The home cook with the most number of votes will move on in the competition, while the remaining two home cooks will face the next pressure test, during which they must complete three classic American desserts. The home cook with the best desserts will move on to the finals. Later, in the final challenge in the MASTERCHEF kitchen, the Top Two home cooks will have one last chance to prove to the judges that they deserve the MASTERCHEF title. After evaluating the final dishes, the judges will reveal America's next MASTERCHEF, and the deserving home cook will walk away with a MASTERCHEF trophy, a book deal and the $250,000 grand prize.
