Are You Ready For Prime Time?
12 hopefuls arrive in Los Angeles to compete for the ultimate dream job: to host their own show on Food Network. The finalists arrive at the Food Network kitchens to greet their mentors; Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and Alton Brown, who help prepare the finalists for the biggest audition of their lives. Each finalist films a pitch tape and prepares one dish to present to the network, Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson, and to a focus group of Food Network viewers who will help decide who has a shot at becoming a Food Network Star.
Burger Bash
This week Food Network Star is throwing its very own Burger Bash, an over-the-top burger competition. The remaining finalists are tasked with creating the best burger of their lives and presenting it to 100 burger enthusiasts. After the presentations, the burger fans must decide whose burger they want to try based on their live-demo presentation. After a vote on which burger has the best flavor, the least successful finalist is sent home.
A Star Is Chopped
In this week's episode someone is getting Chopped. A Food Network Star must have the knowledge and ability to use a wide range of ingredients and be able to take any combination to new culinary heights. Each of the 10 remaining finalists will be given an exotic ingredient and must be able to use their palate to identify and present what it is. The top two winners will win a seat at the judge's table, alongside Chopped judge Alex Guarnaschelli, while their competitors battle it out in the kitchen, Chopped style.
Big Screen Bites
From foods, to products, to restaurants, Food Network Stars are participating in the latest culinary trends. The movie theater experience is being transformed with luxury cinemas popping up all over the country. This week, the finalists will compete at a one of these extravagant cinemas. Paired into teams of three, they will have to create a menu and a movie trailer for a focus group of movie enthusiasts. Whose concept will be a hit at the box office and who will go home?
4th Of July Live
Food Network Stars often participate in live TV events where they're required to think on their feet and react to any situation thrown at them. Special guest, Terrence Jenkins, from E! News, will host our finalists as they do live cooking demos - with some curveballs. Then the finalists participate in "4th of July Live," a one-take interactive show that helps the viewers at home with must-have recipes and tips for summer parties.
Product Pitch
Food Network Stars need to communicate big ideas quickly, so this week, each finalist will have to come up with a product representing their unique brand and culinary style and then create, package and pitch the product to a tough panel of successful food executives from Target, Kellogg's and Kraft. The selection committee will decide who did best overall, and who will go home.
Star Charity Auction
This week, the finalists are challenged to be adventurous, both on screen and in the kitchen. They each much use an unusual ingredient to create a dish which they will then auction to a roomful of adventurous eaters. The better their presentations, the higher the bids will get and the finalist whose dish fetches the highest price is safe from elimination. The selection committee will pick the best overall dish and send one finalist home.
Food Stories From The Road
Since Food Network Stars are always describing food in a way that brings it to life, the finalists are divided into teams to film a three minute "food story show" about a pizza joint and a donut shop. Guest judges from The Hollywood Reporter screen and critique the shows, and the least successful team lands in the bottom three.
Menu: Impossible
A Food Network Star must be able to offer tips and solutions for any culinary situation. Guest Robert Irvine leads the finalists on an "impossible" challenge: They must rehabilitate failing or outdated dishes on a restaurant's menu. The least successful finalist is sent home.
Network Pitch
The four finalists get their chance to pitch a show to Food Network. Executives Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson are back to choose the final three: Based on the finalists' presentations, Bob and Susie will greenlight three concepts, which will be made into pilots directed by season two Food Network Star winner Guy Fieri.
America Picks A Star
The results are in as America has voted to determine who will be the next Food Network Star. Before the winner is revealed, the finalists are back in the studio to tell all and view never-before-seen footage from the season. Bobby, Alton and Giada each share their favorite moments during an emotional look back at remaining finalists' journey to the finale. Then, suspense rises as the time comes to reveal who will walk away as the new Food Network Star.
